Family means more than relatives.
Compass Family Care uses family in the broad sense. For many people, the person they trust most may be a relative, friend, partner, or another person they consider family. Program rules still decide who can serve in each caregiving role.
Compass Family Care can help you explore three kinds of care at home.
Keep care close to home.
Structured Family Caregiving (SFC) is the primary focus of Compass Family Care. The client lives with a primary caregiver who provides personalized daily care and support with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.
The caregiver can be a relative, trusted friend, or another person the client considers family, subject to Indiana program requirements.
Hands-on personal care.
Attendant Care provides hands-on, non-medical personal care: help with bathing, dressing, mobility, medication reminders, and safety. There is no live-in requirement, and caregivers are paid hourly.
Help with household tasks.
Home and Community Assistance (HCA) provides non-medical support with household tasks: light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and errands. There is no live-in requirement, and caregivers are paid hourly.
