Navigating with Compassion

About Compass Family Care

A provider built with heart, experience, and a strong foundation.

Compass Family Care was built to bring together person-centered care, caregiver support, ethical practice, and reliable follow-through.

The idea behind the name

“Compass” represents guidance. “Family” represents the people someone trusts and considers family. “Care” is the heart of the work.

That is what Navigating with Compassion means to us: helping families find their way through home care with patience, respect, and kindness.

Person-centered care

Care built around the person.

Every plan starts with the person’s own preferences and goals: their health, safety, home, and community. Compass Family Care works with the client, the caregiver, and the case manager to keep care focused on what matters to the person receiving it.

Why this matters

Family caregiving can be deeply meaningful and deeply demanding.

Caregivers manage routines, appointments, safety, personal care, household needs, paperwork, and the emotional weight of being responsible for someone they love.

Compass Family Care is designed around the belief that strong care for the participant includes a strong working relationship with the caregiver. That means communicating clearly, asking how things are going, and following through when a problem needs to be solved.

“Well, no one has asked me how I’m doing before.”

A family caregiver’s reaction to seeing a daily note that included questions about the caregiver’s own wellbeing. It captured exactly why Compass Family Care wants caregiver support to feel different.

Built on experience

Knowing the waiver system from the inside.

Compass Family Care was founded by a Medicaid waiver case manager with more than 15 years of experience across mental health, housing, insurance, and home and community-based services. That background shapes how Compass Family Care operates: not guessing at how the waiver system works, but knowing it from the inside.

Built deliberately

A strong agency starts with a strong foundation.

Compass Family Care has invested in learning, outside expertise, and systems that help the agency operate responsibly from the beginning.

Business education

Additional coursework in business administration and medical billing to strengthen the operational side of the agency.

Professional guidance

Support from a waiver consultant, CPA, HR resources, IT and security professionals, small business mentoring, and legal review.

Compliance first

Policies, documentation, privacy, security, and program requirements are treated as part of the service, not as an afterthought.
